Top ski areas in the ski nation France

shows off with its numerous ski resorts, all of which belong to the largest, highest and most expansive ski resorts in the world. The ski region Les 3 Vallées, with just about 600 km of piste and 200 lift systems, really gets skiers hearts pumping. The ski circuit completely connects all three valleys from Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens/Les Menuires with each other. The choice that's offered here is not just for pros, but also for beginners and intermediates. From the ski area Les Portes du Soleil, you have the chance to ski into , where you can continue on to a seemingly limitless 650 km of piste that are themselves spread out and connected over 12 areas. Start of your morning deciding between a view of Lake Geneva or Mont Blanc. Both directions offer endless fun on the piste for every type of skier. Snow security during your winter holiday is especially easy to find in Tignes and Les 2 Alpes. Here, you'll find the largest and highest glacier ski areas with altitudes up to 3,560 m. In the winter sports metropolis Chamonix, at the foot of the 4,800 m high Mont Blanc, the 1924 Winter Olympics took place. A highlight of the resort is the gondola on the Aiguille du Midi, the second highest gondola in Europe, of which brings the most adventurous skiers to one of the longest and most spectacular deep snow areas in the world. The over 20 km long glacier run gives you a breathtaking adrenaline kick during your ski holiday that will stay in your memory well after you've travelled back home. Further well-known destinations for the Winter Olympics and various Alpine competitions include the French areas of Grenoble, Chamrousse, Albertvilles and Tignes.
